Beneath Naples' frenetic exterior lies lost-world silence

Naples narrow streets are filled with the noise of scooters, car horns and barking dogs. At first blush, the city exudes chaos. Dig a little deeper, however, and visitors can discover a world of caves and catacombs, Roman remains and Christian burial sites. Naples, which is built over previous cities, features an easily accessible honeycombed underground that offers a glimpse into the past.
