Small gains in BP control could yield big results

A U.S. study found small, inexpensive steps, such as carrying a blood pressure wallet card to track clinic visits and medications, helped patients achieve a 4.2% improvement in blood pressure control. Investigators said that even that small of an improvement, spread over a large population, would translate into big gains in the prevention of stroke, heart attack and congestive heart failure.
