Union members were warned of possible strike at Bell

Union leaders representing Bell Helicopter employees had warned employees about the possibility of a strike a year or two ago. About 2,500 workers rejected a new labor agreement from Textron's Bell unit because of the contract's higher medical costs and other issues. The labor agreement also offered signing bonuses of $4,500 and cumulative raises of 18.7% over three years.
