Ariz. teacher secures grant to upgrade school technology

An Arizona elementary school has adopted a new multimedia curriculum that relies more on technology to teach 21st-century skills and improve student achievement. A first-grade teacher at the school received a $20,000 grant to outfit the school with interactive whiteboards, document cameras and other technology. "I'm still using best practices and doing all of the professional development that my district offers," she said, "and just adding the technology component to the mix."
