CDC: Obesity and diabetes rates are still on the rise

CDC survey data found 28% of U.S. adults were obese in 2009, up from 19.4% in 1997, but the number of people who said they got regular physical activity increased from 29.8% in 1998 to 34.7% in 2009. The survey found the number of people diagnosed with diabetes rose to 9% in 2009, compared with 5.1% in 1997.
