Circulating nurse is a must in Pennsylvania ORs under new law

A Pennsylvania law now requires that a registered nurse be present and circulating during all procedures that require general anesthesia or deep sedation at hospitals or class C ambulatory surgical facilities. Circulating nurses must have the training and experience necessary to ensure patient safety and that the proper equipment is present, sterile and functional.
