HHS will offer $250 million in grants for primary-care training

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced that the federal government will offer $250 million in grants to hospitals and academic medical centers that provide training to primary-care providers, nurses and related health professionals. While specific health IT funding is not included in the program, the initiative profits from government efforts to spur HIT meaningful use, the Health Resources and Services Administration administrator said.
