Indies call for prime-time niche as caveat to Comcast-NBCU deal

A group of independent producers, writers and directors has petitioned the Federal Communications Commission in response to a call for comment on the proposed merger between Comcast and NBC Universal. The group wants the FCC to require Comcast-NBCU to set aside 25% of prime-time programming for independent content creators as a condition for approving the merger.
