Study: Celecoxib hurts stomach less than diclofenac plus omeprazole

An international study of 4,484 patients found that those who took 200 milligrams of celecoxib twice daily for arthritis pain and inflammation had a lower risk of gastrointestinal damage than those who received 75 milligrams of diclofenac plus 20 milligrams of omeprazole once daily. The finding "should encourage guideline committees to review their treatment recommendations for arthritis patients," researchers said.
