ACOs rule should promote interoperability, HIMSS group says

The HIMSS Electronic Health Record Association has expressed concerns that some mandates in the CMS proposal for accountable care organizations are unrealistic and could discourage participation. The group also urged the CMS to align the ACO rules with other quality improvement efforts and increase the focus on interoperability and bidirectional health information exchange.
