$425M resurfacing, widening of U.S. 36 in Colo. underway

The Colorado Department of Transportation Managed Lanes project is moving into "the meat" of the work to resurface and widen U.S. 36 by 80 feet. The project's first phase, estimated at $312 million, includes demolition of three bridges and concrete resurfacing of the eastbound side. The $113 million second phase is scheduled to begin by year's end or early 2014.
