Apple offers details on federal agency data requests

Apple is the latest tech titan, following Microsoft and Facebook, to release data regarding federal inquiries in light of the ongoing controversy tied to the National Security Agency's Prism program. Apple said it got nearly 5,000 requests in the past six months from various agencies. "Regardless of the circumstances, our legal team conducts an evaluation of each request and, only if appropriate, we retrieve and deliver the narrowest possible set of information to the authorities," Apple said in a statement.
