Demand for separate living spaces in a home is expected to increase

As baby boomers age and some move in with their children, the number of people living in multigenerational housing is expected to increase from the current 51.5 million. That growth, combined with a need for flexible housing because of the recession, has led to the return of a "home-within-a-home" trend that carves out a separate living space within a single house, such as Lennar's NextGen homes.
