GenCorp acquires Rocketdyne for $550M

GenCorp Inc., the parent company of Aerojet, has acquired Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne for $550 million. The merged company will be renamed Aerojet-Rocketdyne, and will be based in Sacramento, Calif. Aerojet-Rocketdyne President Warren Boley said the company plans to double its revenues in the next five years. The new company also said the merger could help the federal government save up to $3 billion over several years.
