Imaging tests detect bone metastasis in oral cancer

Imaging tests such as CT, MRI, panoramic radiography, PET/CT and cone-beam CT show good diagnostic accuracy in identifying mandibular bone metastasis in cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma, according to a study published in Dentomaxillofacial Radiology. The study found PET/CT to have a 97% specificity value.
