Lawmakers push for changes to N.Y. "Scaffold Law"

New York's Scaffold Law, which "places the burden of responsibility on the contractor to prove that the job site was safe for workers," could be facing a major change. State legislators have proposed an amendment that would "add language that requires juries to consider the actions of workers in weighing injury lawsuits." The emphasis on worker liability is expected to add fuel to the fire in the debate to remake the law.
