Obama and EU leaders agree to begin trade talks

Negotiations toward creating a free trade agreement between the U.S. and the EU will begin next month in Washington, D.C., President Barack Obama and EU leaders announced at a meeting of the Group of Eight countries in Northern Ireland. Suggesting just how delicate the talks might become, French President Francois Hollande lashed out at comments by European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, who had criticized France's demand that its motion picture and television industries receive protection under any agreement.
