Physicians can help create wellness alternatives for employees

An employee's personal physician may be brought into corporate wellness plans because of Affordable Care Act regulations that require companies to offer alternatives for workers who reject or who are unable to meet regular program requirements and outcomes. Employees can reject wellness incentives and a company-offered alternative and ask their physician to come up with a different approach that allows them to receive the benefit.
