Short-term optimism, long-term fears increase among workers

U.S. workers are more optimistic about increased salaries and benefits in the near future and more fearful they will be made irrelevant or be required to do more work for the same pay, according to the most recent Harris Poll Jobs and Benefits Security Index. Of the respondents, 32% saw a pay raise in the near future, up from 29% in April, and 18%, up from 15%, fear redundancies in the workplace threatened their job security.
