Some banks say fees make sense for mobile services

Mobile services can be costly to develop, but they save banks money as customers switch from branches to mobile. Still, some banks are taking it a step further and charging fees for mobile services, and they find that customers are willing to pay for the extra value. Regions Bank and U.S. Bank, for example, charge for remote deposit capture. "It's a clear value-added service," says Stephen Lamar of Regions.
