Chinese city to build 10 airports, 100 helipads for GA

The Chinese city of Chongqing recently announced plans to build a new system for general aviation flights. "The system, consisting of one general aviation industrial park, 10 airports and 100 takeoff and landing points, will be completed in five to 10 years," said Li Yong, the head of the Regional Economic Research Center of the Chongqing Academy of Social Sciences. Li said the city needs to develop infrastructure for emergency rescue operations, tourism and business aviation.
