Fla. professor wins grant to study pneumonia among ventilator patients

The National Institutes of Health has awarded a $2.3 million grant to University of Central Florida professor Mary Lou Sole to study how to reduce the occurrence of pneumonia in patients on ventilators. Sole will focus on the build up of fluids in patients' mouths that can leak into the lungs through breathing tubes.
