Physicians play key role in ACO leadership, study finds

Fifty-one percent of accountable care organizations in 2013 were led by doctors, while 33% were managed jointly by doctors and hospitals, a study of public and private organizations found. In 78% of organizations, the majority of the administrative board consisted of physicians. The results appear in Health Affairs.
