Report: 9% of shoppers do not have a primary store

Nearly 1 in 10 shoppers does not have a primary supermarket, up from just 2% in 2011, and men now make up 40% of primary shoppers, according to a report by FMI and the Hartman Group. The report also found that millennials are shifting shopping habits by planning trips to the store around specific meals, rather than stocking up on pantry items, while consumers overall are trending toward less-processed, healthier food options.
