Survey: Few docs seek government work, complicating VA care

A Medicus Firm survey revealed only 2% of responding physicians expressed interest in employment with the military or another government setting, complicating staffing for Department of Veterans Affairs facilities. As a result, "many VA facilities are forced to rely on locum tenens physician staffing, which further breaks down communication, continuity of care, and systemic accountability," said Medicus President Jim Stone.
