U.K. education leader to release new school meal standards

Michael Gove, U.K. education secretary, is expected today to release standards for school meals that would limit students to two portions of deep-fried foods each week. Under the standards, pastries will be limited, salt will unavailable to students to add to the food and limits would be placed on the sale of sweets. The standards also call for limits on fruit juice and mandates the availability of low-fat milk.
