In an editorial, the Chicago Tribune says newly-elected teachers union president Marilyn Stewart has a distressing, "old school" attitude toward the role of unions which ignores the modern reality that teachers must be partners in enacting school reform. The newspaper said outgoing president Deborah Lynch had the right approach to improving the education profession's image and skills.
