Australia field trials show promising results for biotech wheat

The Molecular Plant Breeding Cooperative Research Centre's field trials of biotech wheat in Victoria, Australia, showed that seven out of 24 crop lines produced yields up to 20% higher than nonbiotech varieties under drought stress. The study's lead investigator and John Brumby, premier of Victoria, are set to present the results today at the BIO convention in San Diego.
