Bright spots can be found in agent compensation reports

A recent report from ASTA, based on a member survey, found that the average compensation for new agents was $20,133, which is generally considered to be quite low. Digging deeper into the survey, ASTA said that agents with managerial and sales responsibilities earn an average of $38,648. Other industry professionals reported that the salaries vary greatly. There are "lots of frontline agents earning $40,000, $50,000, $60,000, $70,000, $80,000," said one industry insider. ASTA plans to include trend information in future reports.
