Experts tout advances in genomics at BIO convention

Leading genetic experts at the BIO convention in San Diego discussed technological advances in genomics, such as the Human Genome Project and new gene-sequencing tools, that may help push personalized medicine. Faster, less expensive ways to sequence genomes will help scientists determine which mutations are rare and appear to be linked to disease, as well as prioritize drug development and inform the most effective use of drugs.
