NXTcomm: Verizon expands 50/20 broadband speeds

Verizon Communications has announced plans to offer super-high-speed broadband to all of its FiOS customers in its 16-state area. The advanced performance delivers downloads up to 50 Mbps and upload speeds up to 20 Mbps. "The appetite for bandwidth shows no sign of slowing down," said Verizon Chief Operating Officer Denny Strigl during his NXTcomm keynote. "We've already had successful trials of the 100-megabit home," he said.
