State leaders urge biotech funding to shore up economy

State governments should allot funding for biotech initiatives to boost the U.S. economy amid challenging times and to encourage the progress of research, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick said at BIO's annual convention. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, along with Arizona bioscience leaders, echoed Patrick's recommendation and discussed the economic benefits of providing federal funds to research institutes.
