Schapiro says derivatives oversight should be consistent

The Obama administration's proposal for changes to the regulatory framework does not address the issue of which regulator -- the Securities and Exchange Commission or the Commodity Futures Trading Commission -- should oversee derivatives. Instead, the proposal says the agencies should share oversight. Mary Schapiro, chairwoman of the SEC, said such oversight needs to be consistent.
