Science, conservation lessons learned through gardening

Some Florida students learned lessons in responsibility, conservation, community service and science through a gardening project at their school. Students planted a vegetable garden in square-foot plots based on an idea from the book "Square Foot Gardening," which advises against planting in rows in an effort to conserve time, money and water.
