JAL, ANA seek antitrust immunity for U.S. partnerships

Japan's two major international airlines asked Japanese regulators on Friday for antitrust waivers that would allow deeper cooperation with their U.S. alliance partners. Japan Airlines and American Airlines are seeking to coordinate their trans-Pacific operations, while All Nippon Airways is requesting a similar arrangement with United Airlines and Continental Air Lines.
