Report: Dogs attacked more than 2,800 postal carriers last year

A recent U.S. Postal Service study revealed that more than 2,800 postal carriers were bitten by dogs in 2009. According to the study, carriers in Los Angeles and Orange County, Calif., were at the highest risk. AVMA is working with the Postal Service and other groups to develop advice for carriers and pet owners to prevent canine attacks.
