Stimulus funds working, Obama administration says

Despite some glitches in the stimulus package -- such as the buy-American provision that made procuring needed parts difficult -- some experts and the Obama administration say the stimulus has been effective. Vice President Joe Biden said, "We've gone from hemorrhaging over 700,000 jobs a month the first several months we got here ... to adding more -- several hundred thousand jobs a month the last several months." Ken Simonson, an economist with Associated General Contractors, said that although funds for highway repair and construction did move rapidly through the funding system, funds for other projects, such as water-treatment plants and power plants, moved much more slowly.
