Baltimore grocers adopt a broader view of public health

Owners of the Apples & Oranges grocery store in Baltimore have expanded their mission to increase access to healthy foods by offering Zumba classes in the parking lot and health screenings for diabetes and hypertension. The Food Depot across town hired a registered dietitian to help customers choose healthier foods and allowed researchers from the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future to use it as a study lab.
