Canadian energy traders face derivative-rule challenges

Canadian regulators have revised rules governing over-the-counter derivatives in response to energy traders' concerns. However, market participants, who welcomed the revisions, remain concerned about inconsistencies with the Dodd-Frank Act. Also, Canada's provinces and territories, rather than the federal government, set derivatives rules, making the situation even more complicated.
