CAP program to re-enlist more than 5,000 soldiers in certain specialties

Commanders Army-wide have been given permission to re-enlist roughly 5,600 soldiers as part of the Commanders Allocation Process. The program, which will re-enlist soldiers with certain specialties whose enlistments are due to expire in fiscal year 2013 or 2014, is part of the Army's realignment plan. The plan involves shedding 40,000 soldiers over the next four years and is expected to result in a leaner, more focused force.
