Former Democratic operative Nathan Daschle has been named Clear Channel's executive vice president for political strategy. His role will be to better market the company's 850 stations, digital extensions and outdoor assets to political campaigns and their agencies. "When I look at what Clear Channel has to offer, I see an untapped resource for campaigns," Daschle said. "Clearly campaigns have understood the power of radio for a long time, but there are things that we can now [do] with radio, with targeting, particularly with the layer of digital on top of it that we couldn't have done five years ago."
