Educators see "joyful learning" with the common core

While they still express concerns about how the Common Core State Standards are being implemented, Dina Strasser, a seventh-grade language arts teacher, and Cheryl Dobbertin, a high-school English/language arts teacher, now consultant, write in this commentary that they see value in the standards. They write that they have seen examples of "joyful learning" under the common core, including in one lesson in which second-graders had fun learning about snakes.
