Google search adjustment puts premium on mobile optimization

Google is taking mobile into account in its search rankings, granting higher positions to those sites that provide a better mobile experience. The change means that mobile optimization is more important than ever for brands and will be a key to good search engine optimization results. "We don’t expect misconfigured sites to drop out of Google’s index entirely, but even dropping a few positions on the first page of results can result in a heavy traffic loss since so few organic listings are visible before the user has to scroll down the page," said Jon Maxson, senior director of SEO at iCrossing.
