Hospices feel effects of sequestration cuts to Medicare

Iowa hospice officials say federal sequestration cuts will have an impact because so many of their patients are on Medicare, which was required to trim payments 2% starting in April. Hospices rely on networks of volunteers to provide additional resources for family caregivers, said Iowa City Hospice Executive Director Maggie Elliott.
