New York City dispatcher spends 8 hours on phone with stroke victim

A New York City 9-1-1 official is asking for special recognition of dispatcher Joann Hilman-Payne, who stayed on the phone with an elderly stroke victim for eight hours while first responders searched for the woman's address. Verizon Wireless finally was able to locate the patient through her cellphone signal. Emergency Medical Dispatch Capt. Philip Weiss said Hilman-Payne remained calm and never lost her composure during the ordeal.
