Obama names gay men to ambassadorial posts

President Barack Obama last week named James Costos as his nominee to become the U.S. ambassador to Spain, and Rufus Gifford to head the U.S. embassy in Denmark. Both men are openly gay. "We congratulate Rufus Gifford and James Costos, whose nominations reflect the president's strong commitment to eliminating barriers to public service for LGBT Americans," said Chuck Wolfe, president and CEO of the Victory Fund and Institute.
