Subway stays strong in Canada, without a latte plan

Subway's lack of a big-time beverage strategy to compete with gourmet coffee menus at McDonald's and Tim Hortons hasn't slowed its growth in Canada, said co-founder and President Fred DeLuca. The U.S.-based sandwich chain boasts 2,930 units in Canada, with 145 to 150 more on track to open this year, and sales there grew 7% in 2012.
