TransCanada to use conventional spill detection for Keystone

TransCanada said it doesn't intend to use high-tech tools such as fiber-optic cables and infrared sensors to detect oil spills along its Keystone XL pipeline, saying that they are impractical for the project. Instead, TransCanada will use conventional surveys, flyovers and software-based techniques for monitoring.
