Companies shouldn't put CSR before their bottom line, writes Daniel Altman. Social responsibility is good for business in the long run, so simply aiming for long-term profitability should be enough to ensure that companies take their CSR responsibilities seriously, Altman argues. "If owners or shareholders want a company to be a social enterprise, that's great. But not every company has to be one," he writes.
