Canadian students explore Aboriginal history, culture

Fifth-graders in Ajax, Ontario, Canada, are learning about the history, culture and contributions of the country's First Nations people and Aboriginal leaders through artifacts, storytelling and cultural activities. The class is participating in the First Nation Literacy Partnership Program, which encourages the education of native cultures, a goal in sync with the Ministry of Education's effort to include more Aboriginal education in the social studies curriculum.
